“Being 58, which suggests I might decide down the line, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Pressed on the specific conditions must arise to tempt his return to the touchline, Klopp admitted he isn't eager to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I enjoy my current role,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for lengthy sessions; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews weekly.
“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad having a nice chat, I appreciate that. With many victories meaning regularly great spirits around the place. I still have the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears to illustrate.”
Praise for His Successor
Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role for the adjustments that took the title last term. Liverpool have lost a string of losses across various tournaments following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion it could be a decline.
“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, incredible player. It’s a really good well-judged squad. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”
Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota
The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Jota, a player he signed during his tenure, along with the consequences for the team. Jota died tragically in a car crash with his brother recently.
“Who can fill the void of a person like him? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the team environment absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly about it. A devastating blow for the entire squad also. No one within the club might employ it for poor performances though it's a fact. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Coping with it emotionally is difficult. Impossible.”
