Netflix Selects Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.
The new cast member joins several other recently announced actors set to bring the group to life, such as chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as the monarch of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this marks a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
