Six Suspects Apprehended Following €12M Heist on Gold Processing Laboratory in the French Republic

A group of six individuals equipped with assault rifles and handguns detonated charges to force entry into a gold refining laboratory located in Lyon, France, resulting in minor injuries to five employees during what is being called the most recent prominent daylight theft to affect the nation.

The daring raid took place on Thursday afternoon, with officers rapidly detaining the suspected perpetrators and recovering the stolen goods valued at approximately €12M (10.5 million pounds), as stated by authorities.

Five employees of Laboratoires Pourquery received light wounds from the blast, and three individuals required hospital checks for evaluation, the regional prefecture announced. A total of twenty-eight staff were at the location when the robbers attacked.

Those arrested, considered seasoned offenders, were arrested a brief time later in the neighboring community of Vénissieux, France, a source close to the investigation stated.

A female accomplice involved in the raid was also apprehended, officers confirmed.

“Six people who utilized explosives in a raid against a precious metals company in Lyon, France were apprehended red-handed,” France's security official announced via X, praising officers for their “quick action, authority and management”.

High-caliber firearms, handguns and detonation devices were also confiscated.

The robbery occurred as French police on that Thursday arrested five more suspects, featuring a main perpetrator, in connection with this month's brazen Louvre museum robbery.
